Perma Pure

BE / BE-HP Series – Passive Moisture Exchangers for Simple and Reliable Gas Conditioning

When your application requires moisture control without purge gas, power, or moving parts, the Perma Pure BE and BE-HP Series offers a simple and dependable solution. These braided moisture exchangers use ambient conditions to remove – or add – water vapor, making them ideal for straightforward gas conditioning tasks.

The BE Series is designed for standard pressure applications, while the BE-HP Series extends the same principle to high-pressure environments.

Ambient-driven Nafion™ technology for passive moisture exchange

The BE and BE-HP Series are built around Nafion™ membrane tubing enclosed in a braided protective sheath. As the sample gas flows through the Nafion tubing, water vapor is selectively transferred across the membrane wall.

Instead of using a purge gas, the moisture exchange occurs directly with the surrounding ambient air. When ambient humidity is lower than the sample gas, moisture is removed. When ambient humidity is higher, the same exchanger can be used to add controlled moisture to the gas stream.

This passive operating principle ensures that only water vapor is transferred, while other gas components remain unaffected.

Perma Pure BE / BE-HP Series

No purge gas, no power – a truly low-maintenance solution

Because the BE Series relies entirely on ambient conditions, installation and operation are exceptionally simple. There are no utilities to connect and no consumables to replace.

With no moving parts and continuous self-regeneration, the exchanger delivers stable performance over time with virtually no maintenance. This makes it especially attractive for distributed systems, remote installations, and calibration setups.

Standard and high-pressure versions for flexible system design

The BE Series is intended for applications with moderate pressures, while the BE-HP Series is engineered for pressures up to 250 psig (17 barg). Both versions offer the same moisture exchange principle and performance characteristics, allowing you to choose the right model based purely on operating pressure.

Multiple active lengths are available to match different flow rates and humidity requirements.

BE and BE-HP models matched to flow and pressure requirements

Series Typical flow range Max operating pressure Typical use
BE Series Up to 4 lpm Up to 80 psig (6 barg) Standard pressure drying or humidification
BE-HP Series Up to 4 lpm Up to 250 psig (17 barg) High-pressure gas conditioning
