Product Overview

The HygroLab is an integrated laboratory analyzer capable of using multiple Rotronic probes — typically HC2A, HC2S and HC2O — to measure:

  • Relative humidity (RH)
  • Temperature
  • Dew point
  • Water activity (aₙ)

Its benchtop design features an intuitive interface with a large color display, support for up to four measurement channels, and flexible communication options. HygroLab is designed to serve as both a reference instrument and a data acquisition platform for calibration labs, R&D facilities, and quality assurance teams.

Key Capabilities

Multi-Probe Operation

HygroLab supports simultaneous measurements from several probes, allowing you to measure different parameter sets in parallel — ideal for complicated or multi-location sample testing.

High Accuracy and Stability

When paired with advanced Rotronic digital probes, HygroLab delivers lab-grade performance across humidity, temperature and water activity, with traceable metrology and low drift over time.

Water Activity Measurement

Critical in food, pharmaceutical and material testing applications, HygroLab’s water activity functionality helps predict shelf life, microbial risk, packaging needs and product stability.

User-Friendly Interface

A clear color touchscreen, configurable displays and straightforward menu navigation simplify setup, measurement and data review — reducing operator training time.

Flexible Connectivity

HygroLab supports USB, Ethernet and digital outputs, allowing integration with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems), data loggers or external PCs for advanced reporting and automation.

Typical Applications

Rotronic HygroLab is used across a wide range of laboratory, industrial and research environments:

  • Quality Assurance & R&D Labs Accurate humidity, temperature and water activity measurement for product development and validation.
  • Pharmaceutical Testing Monitor critical parameters in materials and packaging under controlled environmental conditions.
  • Food and Beverage Industry Determine water activity to optimize texture, stability, shelf life and safety.
  • Calibration & Reference Services Serve as a primary reference instrument for calibration of portable or process transmitters.
  • Material Science and Electronics Diagnose moisture effects in polymers, composites and hygroscopic materials.
