Chematest 42 – Extended measurement capability including turbidity
The Chematest 42 includes the same functionality as the Chematest 35 and adds turbidity measurement via a dual photometer.
Turbidity measurement is compliant with DIN ISO 7027-1 and US EPA 180.1, with a range of 0–1000 FNU/NTU.
- Photometric pH with Phenol Red (6.5–8)
- Free, combined and total chlorine, chlorine dioxide, ozone, bromine, iodine (DPD method)
- External electrode connection
- Included: pH electrode with integrated temperature sensor (range 1–13)
- Optional: Redox (ORP) electrode
- Optional: Conductivity sensor
- Turbidity: 0–1000 FNU/NTU via dual photometer (ISO 7027-1 / EPA 180.1)
This makes the Chematest 42 relevant when you need a broader measurement scope within one instrument, including turbidity.

Why “42”?
The Chematest 42 takes its name from the well-known reference in The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, where 42 is described as the answer to “life, the universe, and everything”.
In this context, the reference reflects that the instrument combines multiple key water quality parameters in one solution, including turbidity.
