ISE Sensors – Accurate Ion Measurement for Complex Processes

Real-time insight into what really matters in your process.

When the composition of your process stream, wastewater, or environmental sample changes, even slightly, ion concentration is often the first indicator. Van London’s Ion Selective Electrodes (ISEs) provide direct, accurate measurement of specific ions — giving you the data you need to control dosing, protect equipment, and ensure product quality.

These sensors are built for reliability, low maintenance, and precision, covering more than 20 ion types, including ammonium, nitrate, chloride, fluoride, calcium, and cyanide. With options in PVC, solid-state, and glass membranes, Van London ISEs perform consistently across a wide range of industrial and environmental applications.

How It Works

Each ISE sensor functions like a miniature electrochemical cell. The ion-selective membrane interacts only with the target ion, producing a stable voltage that correlates directly with concentration. Van London designs these sensors with:

  • PVC, solid-state, or crystal membranes, depending on the target ion
  • Double-junction reference systems that reduce interference and contamination risk
  • Wide pH and temperature ranges (0–80 °C) for process versatility
  • Spring-loaded or flushable designs for easy cleaning and maintenance
  • Combination ISE configurations for compact installations and small-volume samples

These design features ensure fast response times, repeatability, and long-term signal stability — even in aggressive media.

Van London ISE Sensors

Designed for Your Applications

Process & Chemical Industries

Monitor critical ions such as ammonia, nitrate, fluoride, or chloride in reactors, cooling water, and effluent streams. Van London ISEs ensure precise control of neutralization, blending, and quality parameters — reducing chemical use and waste.

Water & Wastewater Treatment

Track nutrient ions like nitrate, ammonia, and fluoride for compliance and optimization. The robust PVC membrane electrodes deliver dependable performance in both clean and contaminated water.

Environmental & Biogas Monitoring

Get real-time data on key ions for emission and nutrient control — from digesters to field sampling. The sensors resist fouling, perform under variable conditions, and connect seamlessly to standard monitoring systems.

Power & Energy Applications

Used in boiler feed, condensate, and cooling systems to detect ions that impact corrosion and scaling. Solid-state electrodes maintain accuracy and longevity, even under temperature and pressure fluctuations.

Your Benefits
